Meet the world's slowest Internet. Even a pigeon is faster!
The South African IT firm has shown that using a carrier pigeon to transmit data faster than using the Internet service provider in the country leader of South Africa.
The local news agency SAPA reported that at 11 months the average age of the Dove Winston, took one hour and eight minutes of flight at 80 km away, from offices near Pietermaritzburg, in the coastal city of Durban with a data card tied to its leg.
While the Internet takes 2 hours 6 minutes 57 seconds including the download of data. Telkom is the company who provides this service to the country and could not be reached for comment regarding the service.
Is expected to improve internet speed after installing more than 17,000 km of undersea fiber optic.
